<h2>316. PRESENCE OF THE LORD</h2>
|
|
<p>The presence of the Lord to His people means:—</p>
|
|
<p>1. <b>Light in trouble.</b> "Lord, lift Thou up the <i>light</i> of Thy <i>countenance</i> upon us" (<a id="fem316-si1" onclick="return mV('Psa',4,6);">Psa 4:6</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>2. <b>Joy in sorrow.</b> "In Thy <i>presence</i> is fulness of <i>joy</i>" (<a id="fem316-si2" onclick="return mV('Psa',16,11);">Psa 16:11</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>3. <b>Hiding in persecution.</b> "Thou shalt <i>hide</i> them in the secret of Thy <i>presence</i>" (<a id="fem316-si3" onclick="return mV('Psa',31,20);">Psa 31:20</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>4. <b>Help in discouragement.</b> "I shall yet praise Him for the <i>help</i> of His <i>countenance</i>" (<a id="fem316-si4" onclick="return mV('Psa',42,5);">Psa 42:5</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>5. <b>Health in disquietude.</b> "Who is the <i>health</i> of my <i>countenance</i> and my God" (<a id="fem316-si5" onclick="return mV('Psa',42,11);">Psa 42:11</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>6. <b>Encouragement in life.</b> "His <i>countenance</i> doth behold the upright" (<a id="fem316-si6" onclick="return mV('Psa',11,7);">Psa 11:7</a>).</p>

<p>7. <b>Gladness in responsibility.</b> "Thou hast made him exceeding <i>glad</i> with Thy <i>countenance</i>" (<a id="fem316-si7" onclick="return mV('Psa',21,6);">Psa 21:6</a>).</p>
