The plug should be shiny and golden colored. Don’t just use a plug with a bunch of black stuff on it it’s going to melt away in no time. Check both discharge and charge ports. * If storing for the winter, discharge battery to between 50-70% charge. This will help keep the cells in balance. Try to keep the batteries inside and not let them get too hot or cold. They like to be above freezing and below 40c. They also don’t like to be in a damp musky basement. If storing unused for more than a couple of weeks it’s a good idea to unplug them from the ev. Use a multimeter to make sure the battery doesn’t have a slow drain. If so your battery may have an issue and you should proceed with caution. These eBay sellers are getting really bad. Don’t be fooled by the huge ah rating. There’s no possible way to cram that much capacity in a 3p battery. The cells would need to be 10,000 mah each. No 18650 can even come close to that and I highly doubt they are using larger cells. I am sure the other specs are inflated as well like amp rating. If you exceed the amp rating on the battery you may cause cells to pop and cause the whole pack to go up in flames during a full throttle pull, especially with a low quality BMS. I messaged one of the sellers(screenshots below) to try and get the cell they are using so I could calculate the ah rating myself and they tried really hard to scam me. Please be careful on eBay. It may be an ok cheap battery when low amps are drawn but the specs are 100% fake. + * ![poo](images/ebayPoo.jpeg) + * eBay messages from seller of scam item diff --git a/ebayMessages.md b/ebayMessages.md new file mode 100644 index 0000000..18a653b --- /dev/null +++ b/ebayMessages.md @@ -0,0 +1,7 @@ +# messages from ebay seller + +## start at the [bottom](#end) + +

Your right. Everyone on eBay is lying about their batteries. You can’t control what others do only what you do. Tell the truth in your ad. Tell your customers that other ads are lying. Tell your customers your real battery specs. Tell customers that ask for your specific cell the actual cell and not hide behind more lies. It’s the right thing to do.

Hello friends, thank you very much for your advice, I also give you advice, can you help me ask how this ebay seller made the 48V 30Ah battery. His battery combination is 13S3P, which is better than mine. You should contact the seller to ask him not to continue selling batteries.

I hope you can help me to contact this seller to ask if his battery cells are Panasonic and what is the real capacity of the battery, because I think his battery is very good, at least his battery has more capacity than mine, thank you!

bryanjoseph:

First you said 5p now your saying 6p. Amps(a) are not amp hours(ah). Just because your cells can do 3.4 amps doesn’t mean your capacity is 20ah. You should know this and stop trying to scam people. Your eBay listing is full of lies. If your cells can only do 3.4 amps then your watt rating should be 960 not 1200.

This seems super suspicious.

Hello friends, you can buy blue and green 48V 20ah batteries, these two batteries are 13S6P batteries, the battery chip is 3.4A, 3.4*6=20.04A. The capacity of these two batteries is more sufficient, you can Buy and try. Customers who bought the green 48V 20AH have tried it and can travel 35 miles. Thanks for your suggestion, I will seriously consider it, if you are not satisfied with our 1865O version of the 48V 20ah H HAILONG black battery. In another 15 days, there will be an enhanced version of the 21700 H HAILONG black battery, which has more power.

Compared to other sellers on ebay, my battery is really good, no comparison, no harm. Friends who have used my battery say yes, if they are not satisfied, we will return it for 30 days free of charge.

bryanjoseph:

Yep. And you say you have a 20ah battery. That means you would need to have cells capable of 4000mah. What cells are you using that have this capability? The obvious answer now that you refuse to disclose this information is that your battery is not 20ah it’s probably more like 10-15ah. Stop scamming people…
