Converts smart (typographic) Unicode characters (smart quotes, em/en dashes, ellipses, ©, ®, ™, arrows, guillemets, common math symbols) into ASCII equivalents. Characters with no ASCII mapping are handled via a user option: Include (default), Remove, or Replace with '.'. Closes #419
