asv[2] = "And David said to Joab and to the princes of the people, Go, number Israel from Beer-sheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know the sum of them.";

Now therefore consider what answer I shall return to him that sent me.";
asv[13] = "And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall, I pray, into the hand of Jehovah; for very great are his mercies: and let me not fall into the hand of man.";
asv[14] = "So Jehovah sent a pestilence upon Israel; and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.";
asv[15] = "And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was about to destroy, Jehovah beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the destroying angel, It is enough; now stay thy hand. And the angel of Jehovah was standing by the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.";

web[12] = "Either three years\' famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while the sword of thy enemies overtaketh [thee]; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the borders of Israel. Now therefore advise thyself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.";
web[13] = "And David said to Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the LORD; for very great [are] his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man.";

web[15] = "And God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thy hand. And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.";

web[18] = "Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and erect an altar to the LORD in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.";

web[26] = "And David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings, and called upon the LORD; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt-offering.";

web[28] = "At that time when David saw that the LORD had answered him in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there.";

yng[12] = "either for three years -- famine, or three months to be consumed from the face of thine adversaries, even the sword of thine enemies to overtake, or three days the sword of Jehovah, even pestilence in the land, and a messenger of Jehovah destroying in all the border of Israel; and now, see; what word do I return to Him who is sending me?\'";
yng[13] = "And David saith unto Gad, `I am greatly distressed, let me fall, I pray thee, into the hand of Jehovah, for very many [are] His mercies, and into the hand of man let me not fall.\'";

csb[7] = "This command was also evil in God\'s sight, so he afflicted Israel.";
csb[8] = "David said to God, &quot;I have sinned greatly because I have done this thing. Now, please take away your servant\'s guilt, for I\'ve been very foolish.&quot;";

csb[10] = "&quot;Go and say to David, \'This is what the LORD says: I am offering you three choices. Choose one of them for yourself, and I will do it to you.\' &quot;";
csb[11] = "So Gad went to David and said to him, &quot;This is what the LORD says: \'Take your choice:";
csb[12] = "&quot;three years of famine, or three months of devastation by your foes with the sword of your enemy overtaking you, or three days of the sword of the LORD -- a plague on the land, the angel of the LORD bringing destruction to the whole territory of Israel.\' Now decide what answer I should take back to the one who sent me.&quot;";
