<p><em>Born:</em> February 27, 1822, near Fishkill, New York.</p>
|
|
<p class="just">Ganse’s family moved to New York City in 1825. He graduated from Columbia College in 1839, studied theology at New Brunswick, New Jersey, and was ordained in 1843. From 1843-1856 he was a Reformed Dutch pastor in Freehold, New Jersey. From 1856-1866 he pastored at the Northwest Reformed Dutch Church in New York. On January 1, 1876, he became pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in St. Louis.
