<p class="just">Dearmer attended Christ Church in Oxford, graduating in 1890. He became an Anglican minister and was vicar of St. Mary the Virgin in Primrose Hill, London, 1901-1915. In World War I, he served as a British Red Cross chaplain in Serbia. In 1916, he worked with the Young Men’s Christian Association in France. In 1916 & 1917, he joined the Mission of Help in India. In 1919, he was appointed professor of ecclesiastical art at

King’s College, London. In 1931, he became a canon of Westminster Abbey. He wrote or edited:</p>
