<h2>421. THE NEW BIRTH</h2>
|
|
<p>The new birth is the door of the Kingdom of God (<a id="fem421-si1" onclick="return mV('Jhn',3,3);">Jhn 3:3</a>)</p>
|
|
<p>1. <b>Necessity of the new birth.</b> "Ye must be born again" (<a id="fem421-si2" onclick="return mV('Jhn',3,7);">Jhn 3:7</a>). The "must" tells us of the absolute necessity.</p>
|
|
<p>2. <b>Author of the new birth.</b> "Of His own will begat He us" (<a id="fem421-si3" onclick="return mV('Jam',1,18);">Jam 1:18</a>). God is the Author of the new creation, as well as of the old.</p>
|
|
<p>3. <b>Procurer of the new birth.</b> "Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God" (<a id="fem421-si4" onclick="return mV('1Jo',5,1);">1Jo 5:1</a>). The Christ, who died, is the Procurer of the new life.</p>
|
|
<p>4. <b>Effecter of the new birth.</b> "Born of the Spirit" (<a id="fem421-si5" onclick="return mV('Jhn',3,6);">Jhn 3:6</a>). The Holy Spirit is the Effective Worker in grace.</p>
|
|
<p>5. <b>Instrument of the new birth.</b> "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God" (<a id="fem421-si6" onclick="return mV('1Pe',1,23);">1Pe 1:23</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>6. <b>Evidence of the new birth.</b> (See <a id="fem421-si7" onclick="return mV('1Jo',2,29);">1Jo 2:29</a>; <a id="fem421-si8" onclick="return mV('1Jo',3,9);">1Jo 3:9</a>; <a id="fem421-si9" onclick="return mV('1Jo',4,7);">1Jo 4:7</a>; <a id="fem421-si10" onclick="return mV('1Jo',5,1);">1Jo 5:1</a>; <a id="fem421-si11" onclick="return mV('1Jo',5,18);">1Jo 5:18</a>, R.V.).</p>
