<h2>137. FAITH</h2>
|
|
<p>Faith in God may be compared to many things.</p>
|
|
<p>1. Faith is the <b>hand</b> that receives the gift of God, and makes us rich (<a id="fem137-si1" onclick="return mV('Jhn',1,12);">Jhn 1:12</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>2. Faith is the <b>eye</b> that looks into the unseen, and beholds things which are beyond human ken (<a id="fem137-si2" onclick="return mV('Hbr',11,1);">Hbr 11:1</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>3. Faith is the <b>heart's response</b> to the call of the Lord (<a id="fem137-si3" onclick="return mV('Rom',10,10);">Rom 10:10</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>4. Faith is the <b>soul's reliance</b> on the Lord Jesus Christ (<a id="fem137-si4" onclick="return mV('2Ti',1,12);">2Ti 1:12</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>5. Faith is the <b>link</b> that connects with Christ and God (<a id="fem137-si5" onclick="return mV('Hbr',10,22);">Hbr 10:22</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>6. Faith is the <b>wire</b> along which the electricity of God's power runs and communicates itself to us (<a id="fem137-si6" onclick="return mV('Gal',3,5);">Gal 3:5</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>7. Faith is the <b>operator</b> which causes the feet to run in glad and swift obedience, as is illustrated in Israel's marching round Jericho according to the Divine direction (<a id="fem137-si7" onclick="return mV('Hbr',11,30);">Hbr 11:30</a>). Obedience is the proof of faith. Where there is no obedience there is no faith. Therefore if we would triumph, we must obey.
