<div class="SSN_rnum">I. THREE OLD TESTAMENT LAWS.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. The law of gleaning.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Lev',19,9);">LEV 19:9</a> And when ye reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shall you gather the gleanings of thy harvest.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Lev',19,10);">LEV 19:10</a> And thou shall not glean thy vineyard, neither shall you gather [every] grape of thy vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and stranger: I [am] the LORD your God.</div>

<div class="SSN_level2">B. The law of redemption.</div>

<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Lev',25,24);">LEV 25:24</a> And in all the land of your possession ye shall grant a redemption for the land.</div>

<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Lev',25,25);">LEV 25:25</a> If thy brother is poor, and has sold away [some] of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold.</div>

<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Jer',32,6);">JER 32:6</a> And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying:</div>

<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Jer',32,7);">JER 32:7</a> Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee, saying, Buy thee my field that [is] in Anathoth: for the right of redemption [is] yours to buy [it].</div>

<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Jer',32,8);">JER 32:8</a> So Hanameel mine uncle's son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that [is] in Anathoth, which [is] in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance [is] yours, and the redemption [is] yours; buy [it] for thyself. Then I knew that this [was] the word of the LORD.</div>

<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Jer',32,11);">JER 32:11</a> So I took the evidence of the purchase, [both] that which was sealed [according] to the law and custom, and that which was open:</div>

<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Jer',32,12);">JER 32:12</a> And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle's [son], and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.</div>

<div class="SSN_level2">C. The law of the preservation of the family name.</div>
|

<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Deu',25,5);">DEU 25:5</a> If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her.</div>

<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Deu',25,6);">DEU 25:6</a> And it shall be, [that] the firstborn which she bears shall succeed in the name of his brother [which is] dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.</div>

<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Deu',25,7);">DEU 25:7</a> And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuses to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother.</div>

<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Deu',25,9);">DEU 25:9</a> Then shall his brother's wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother's house.</div>

<div class="SSN_rnum">III. THE PARABLE OF THE BURIED TREASURE.</div>

<div class="SSN_verse"><a onClick="return mV('Mat',13,44);">MAT 13:44</a> Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hides, and for joy thereof goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.</div>

<div class="SSN_level2">A. In the parable, the field is the world. Who sold, so to speak, everything to purchase the world?</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. Jesus came to redeem the world back to God.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. It was originally His, He created it.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. He gave it to man.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. Adam gave it to Satan.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">4. Satan offered to give it to Jesus, if he would bow down to him.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. Jesus did not challenge the boast of Satan that it was his.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. We have been redeemed not with corruptible things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Jesus.</div>
|
|
