<div class="SSN_rnum">I. VERSE 9: ONE OF THE SEVEN ANGELS WHICH HAD THE SEVEN VIALS FULL OF THE SEVEN LAST PLAGUES.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. During the Revelation, God uses many different persons to convey His message to John.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. He hears the voice from the throne.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Jesus speaks to him.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. The elders talk to him.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">4. There was a special angel dispatched to make the Revelation known to John.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">5. John recognizes this angel to be one that he had seen with the seven last plagues.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. The bride, the Lamb's wife.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. The angel then shows John the New Jerusalem.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. Some such as Dake declare that the New Jerusalem is the Bride of Christ.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. The New Jerusalem is the dwelling place of the Bride of Christ.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">c. Paul refers to the church as the chaste virgin espoused to her husband which is Christ. <a onClick="return mV('2Cr',11,2);">II Cor. 11:2</a>.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. The city is descending out of heaven from God.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. This is the city that the faithful of the Old Testament were looking for in <a onClick="return mV('Hbr',11,1);">Hebrews 11</a>. "They confessed they were strangers and pilgrims here."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">4. <a onClick="return mV('Hbr',12,1);">Heb. 12</a>, We have not come to mount of the law, but to mount Zion the city of the living God, the New Jerusalem.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_rnum">II. JOHN'S DESCRIPTION OF THE NEW JERUSALEM.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. Having the glory of God.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. This glory of God was known in the Old Testament as the Shekinah.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. This filled the Tabernacle when it was set up in the wilderness.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. This was the light that filled the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. Her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal:</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Illuminated with a light for which you can see direct source.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. More like an incandescent glow.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. The wall is great and high, with twelve gates.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. At the gates, 12 angels.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. Most jokes have St. Peter guarding the gates of heaven.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Not so, it will be angels.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. The names written on the twelve gates are the twelve tribes of the children of Israel.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. The promises of the inheritance was given to Abraham.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. We through faith become the children of Abraham and thus the heirs also.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">c. We will be with the saints of all ages.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. The foundations of the wall have the names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">D. Notice the <a onClick="return mV('Num',12,1);">number 12</a>. This scripturally is the number of human government.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. 12 tribes.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. 12 apostles.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. City 12 thousand furlongs.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">4. Walls 144 cubits 12x12.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">E. The city, a cube 12 thousand furlongs. Aprox. 1400 miles wide, long, high.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. If we assume that through the centuries there have been 20 billion who have been saved and that 25% of the city will be devoted to housing and the rest to parks and streets, each person would have a cube of 1/3 mile or 75 acres on each face.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">F. The wall itself like unto jasper. Jasper is an opaque form of quartz, often very colorful.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">G. The foundations are made up of 12 gem stones.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Jasper, like a diamond.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Sapphire, blue.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. Chalcedony, sky blue.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">4. Emerald, green.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">5. Sardonyx, red and white.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">6. Sardius, fiery red.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">7. Chrysolite, golden.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">8. Beryl, sea green.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">9. Topaz, transparent green.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">10. Chrysoprase, purple.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">11. Jacinth, red.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">12. Amethyst, violet.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">H. No temple, the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">I. The nations shall walk in the light of it. No night there.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Darkness which is often a symbol of evil will be banished forever.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. I don't think that our new bodies will require any sleep. They won't get wearied or tired.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. The kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. They bring the glory of the nations into it.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. We shall be kings and priests unto our God.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Only those written in the book of life.</div>
|
|
</div>
