<div class="SSN_intro">Intro: This Psalm has three movements each summarized by a blessing. "Blessed" means "O how happy."</div>

<div class="SSN_rnum">I. "BLESSED ARE THEY THAT DWELL IN THY HOUSE."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. "How amiable or desirable are thy tabernacles O Lord of hosts."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Looked upon as the place where man meets God.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. How vital is our worship together.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. No man is an island, no man stands alone.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. "The ear cannot say to the eye..."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. The deep hunger and yearning of the soul for this worship and fellowship.</div>
|

<div class="SSN_level3">1. "My soul longs - faints."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. "My heart and flesh cry for the living God."</div>
|

<div class="SSN_level4">a. Life at its best apart from Him is empty.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Life apart from Him is without purpose.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. Even the little birds share this blessing.</div>
|
|

<div class="SSN_rnum">II. "BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE STRENGTH IS IN THEE."</div>

<div class="SSN_level2">A. "In passing through dry places they make it a well."</div>
|

<div class="SSN_level3">1. We used to say of our children when they were babies, "They can get juice out of crackers."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. There are people whose lives are like artesian wells.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. It's a refreshing experience to be around them.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Their cup is always running over.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. What is their secret?</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. Their source is in the Lord.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. "He who drinks of the water..."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. "They go from strength to strength."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. So many go from strength to weakness.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. You see them maintaining their position ever so strongly, you look again and see them shattered.</div>
|

<div class="SSN_level4">a. Their strength gave out.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Their resources were depleted.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. How vital that we learn to rely on God for our strength.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. No matter how strong we think we are, we each have a breaking point.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. If our strength is in Him, we shall still be standing when all others have fallen.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. "All our springs are in thee."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_rnum">III. "BLESSED IS THE MAN THAT TRUSTEST IN THEE."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. God becomes our sun and shield.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. All our energy has as its source the sun.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. God is our life-giving source.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. He also is my defense.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. "A day in thy courts is better than a thousand."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. A thousand days anywhere else.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. "I would rather be a door keeper..."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. The lowest position in God's kingdom better than highest position in kingdom of darkness.</div>

<div class="SSN_level3">2. Rather be the poorest man in heaven than the richest man in hell.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">D. "The Lord will give grace and glory."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. "No good thing will He withhold from them who walk uprightly."</div>
|
