<div class="SSN_title">"WHO WILL SHOW US ANY GOOD"</div>
<div class="SSN_intro">Intro: There seems to be a restlessness in man within the core & fiber of his being. Note this question not asked by David.</div>
<div class="SSN_rnum">I. THE ORIGIN OF THIS RESTLESSNESS.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">A. Must go back to garden of Eden.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">1. We see man in perfect contentment.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Living in harmony & fellowship with God.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">B. God has spoken of His creation & declared "It is good" and God rested from His works."</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">C. Then entered sin - man rebelled against God's command and restlessness was the result.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">D. God no longer rested and man could not rest.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Jesus said "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work."</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Man is saying "Who will show us any Good?"</div>
<div class="SSN_rnum">II. THE REASON FOR RESTLESSNESS. SIN.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">A. Man was made for God "Thou hast created..."</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Living for myself can only produce restlessness.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">a. That sense of frustration and vanity.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">b. That quest for something more.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">c. I talk to the poor man.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">d. I talk to the rich man.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">e. I talk to the failure in life.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">f. I talk to the successful man.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">2. I can only rest when in fellowship & harmony with God.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">a. Is such a fellowship & harmony possible?</div>
<div class="SSN_level5">1. Not as long as sin & rebellion present.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Thus I must rest where God rests.</div>
<div class="SSN_level5">1. In the finished work of the cross. "I have come to do the will of the Father & to finish His work." "It is finished."</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">3. Sin & Satan are a constant hassle. My desires for sin keep me in turmoil.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">a. I must realize the power of the cross to remove my guilt.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">b. I must realize the power of the cross to make me righteous.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">c. I must cease from my own works.</div>
<div class="SSN_rnum">III. THE CURE FOR RESTLESSNESS.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">A. "Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us."</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Walk in harmony with God.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Cease your rebellion & seek His face.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">B. The results.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">1. "Thou hast put gladness in my heart."</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">a. Joy is one of the first consciousness of the newborn child of God.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">b. The Christian who has nothing of material possessions can know greater joy than the non-Christian who has an abundance.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">c. There is a group in our society for whom I have the greatest sympathy "Jet Set."</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">2. "I will lay me down in peace, and sleep."</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">a. Oh what beautiful rest when I leave it all with God.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Total commitment, total rest.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">c. One of the industries not needed in Kingdom age: pharmaceutical. Tons and tons of sedatives and sleeping pills sold annually.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">C. "Who will show us any good?"<br>David gives the only answer, "Lord, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us." You are tired of everything in life because you were made for God, the clamant cry of that deepest portion of your being is for God, and it is impossible to satisfy it with anything less. Until you turn to God there is no rest.</div>
