<div class="SSN_intro">Intro: The first recorded words of Jesus when 12-years old: "Did you not know, I must be <about My Father's business?" In Samaria He said to disciples, "My meat is to do the <will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work. Jesus said to the Jews; "The works that <the Father has given Me to finish, the same works that I do bear witness of Me.</div>
<div class="SSN_rnum">I. THE PROPHECIES CONCERNING HIS DEATH WERE NOW ACCOMPLISHED.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">A. He was despised and rejected by men. <a onClick="return mV('Isa',53,3);">Isa. 53:3</a>.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Betrayed by a friend, forsaken by His disciples.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Led as a lamb to the slaughter.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">3. The piercing of His hands and feet.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">4. Numbered with the transgressors in His death.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">B. Vs. 28 accomplished.</div>
<div class="SSN_rnum">II. HIS SUFFERING IS NOW OVER.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">A. Man of sorrows acquainted with grief.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">1. He lived in shadow of the cross.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">a. At beginning of public ministry in Cana, "My hour."</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">b. He spoke to Nicodemus, "Son of Man must be lifted up."</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">c. He talked to the disciples of the cup He must drink.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">d. When Peter confessed, "Thou art the Messiah."</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">e. Moses & Elijah talked with Him about His death in Jerusalem.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">2. He agonized as He faced the Cross.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">a. "Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass."</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Being in agony, He sweat as if it were great drops of blood.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">c. When Peter drew sword to defend. "The cup that the Father hath given to Me shall I not drink it?"</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">3. Now the cup is drained.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">a. He will never suffer again "Once for all."</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Never again will He be forsaken by the Father.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">B. All that is finished.</div>
<div class="SSN_rnum">III. THE PRICE FOR SIN IS NOW PAID.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">A. Greek word, "Teleo" finished also translated paid, accomplished, performed.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">B. Jesus had come to save those who were lost.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">1. We were redeemed/purchased by His precious blood.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">2. He was manifested to take away our sins.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">C. All the types of redemption fulfilled.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">1. The sacrifices in the tabernacle.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">2. The skins God provided Adam to cover his sin.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">3. The shelter from God's judgment in ark.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">4. The sacrifice of the only well-beloved son by Abraham.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">5. The blood on lintel of doorpost.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">6. The lifting up of the serpent in the wilderness.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">7. The rock smitten bringing forth life-giving water.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">D. God has provided four proofs "It is finished."</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Rending of the veil.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Resurrection of Christ from the dead.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">3. Ascension into heaven.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">4. Sending of the Holy Spirit.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">E. No work can be added. It is finished.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Salvation comes not by works of righteousness, but by His grace alone.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Nothing a sinner can do but believe.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">3. His finished work brings me relief for my failures and struggle to be good.</div>
<div class="SSN_rnum">IV. THE END OF SATAN'S POWER.</div>
<div class="SSN_level2">A. "By one man sin entered into the world and death by, for death passed to all men for all sinned."</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">1. But through His death, He destroyed him who had the power of death, i.e., the devil - <a onClick="return mV('Hbr',2,14);">Heb. 2:14</a>.</div>
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Satan is a defeated foe.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">a. He once held me in bondage, I was a servant of sin.</div>
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Now I serve a risen Savior.</div>
