<h2>492. WHERE BLESSING IS FOUND</h2>
|
|
<p>Blessing from the Lord runs in the channel of obedience to Him, as we are found in the path of duty.</p>
|
|
<p>1. <b>Revelation</b>. The angels appeared to the shepherds, and announced the Saviour's birth, as they were watching their flocks (<a id="fem492-si1" onClick="return mV('Luk',2,8,9,10);">Luk 2:8-10</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>2. <b>Manifestation</b>. The angel of Jehovah manifested Himself to Moses as he kept the flock over which he was shepherd (<a id="fem492-si2" onClick="return mV('Exd',3,1,2,3);">Exd 3:1-3</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>3. <b>Commission</b>. The Lord took David from the sheep-fold to be king over Israel, for as he had been faithful in the former position, so he would be in the latter (<a id="fem492-si3" onClick="return mV('Psa',78,70);">Psa 78:70</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>4. <b>Qualification</b>. It was while Gideon was threshing the corn that the Lord made known to him that He intended him to be the deliverer of Israel (<a id="fem492-si4" onClick="return mV('Jdg',6,11);">Jdg 6:11</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>5. <b>Substitution</b>. Elisha was called from the plough to be the companion and successor to Elijah (<a id="fem492-si5" onClick="return mV('1Ki',19,19);">1Ki 19:19</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>6. <b>Identification</b>. It was while Matthew was at the receipt of custom (<a id="fem492-si6" onClick="return mV('Mat',9,9);">Mat 9:9</a>), and the disciples were following their occupation as fishermen, that the Lord called them to be His disciples and witnesses (<a id="fem492-si7" onClick="return mV('Mat',4,18);">Mat 4:18</a>).</p>

<p>7. <b>Satisfaction</b>. The woman of Samaria little thought when she came to draw water from Jacob's well that she would there receive a drink which would satisfy her heart (<a id="fem492-si8" onClick="return mV('Jhn',4,14);">Jhn 4:14</a>).</p>
