<div class="SSN_rnum">I. THE DANGER OF THE LUKEWARM STATE.</div>
|

<div class="SSN_level2">A. It is unpalatable.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. I am a milk drinker. I love a cold glass of milk, sometimes a hot cup.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. One way I can't stand milk, lukewarm.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. "I would that you were cold or hot."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. The man with no reaction is the hardest to reach, the farthest away.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Even those with strong neg. reactions are closer.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. Lukewarm Christianity is detestable.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. No good in the world. you have enough of Christ to make you miserable, not enough to make you joyous.</div>

<div class="SSN_level4">a. Worse, you are a detriment because you claim Christianity. People who don't know any better look at you as an example, and are driven away.</div>

<div class="SSN_level2">D. Jesus said, "I will spew you out of My mouth."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. He is saying that He wants all or nothing at all.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. True Christianity demands complete commitment.</div>

<div class="SSN_rnum">II. THE CAUSES OF THE LUKEWARM STATE.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. Because thou sayest "I am rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. They had begun to put their trust in riches rather than God.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. "How hard it is for those who put their trust in riches..."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Jesus spoke of the deceitfulness of riches as one of the thorns choking fruitfulness.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Their interest were divided between the material things and spiritual things.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. Lukewarm is a mixture.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Seeking to mix a life of materialism with a spiritual life results in lukewarm.</div>
|

<div class="SSN_level2">B. Sad, but they were unconscious of their true state, "And knowest not..."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Because they still attended church.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Could still speak the spiritual jargon, sing hymns.</div>

<div class="SSN_level3">3. Your body may be here today. Where is your heart?</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">4. What is your spirit temperature?</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_rnum">III. THE ANSWER TO THE LUKEWARM STATE.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. Look to Jesus for all things.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. Be zealous.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. Repent.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">D. Open the door.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. "Behold I stand at the door..."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. He desires full communion with you.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. "I will come in and sup." What is your reaction? Is their none?</div>
