<div class="SSN_rnum">I. THE VALUE OF COMMITMENT.</div>

<div class="SSN_level2">A. Men of commitment are men of accomplishment.</div>
|

<div class="SSN_level3">1. The men who will get the job done.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. The men that will win.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. Everything worthwhile takes effort.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Without commitments, effort lacking.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_rnum">II. THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMITMENT.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. We shall each of us face the fiery furnace.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. God never promised us immunity from trials, quite the opposite, "and they that live..."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. To pray "not my will, Thy will be done" can sometimes involve a cross.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. My human nature would seek the easy path, but the easy path usually leads to nowhere.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. We observe some who have fallen by the wayside.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. "Ye did start well, what did hinder you?"</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Seed on the stony ground.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. What is the problem? Lack of deep commitment.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_rnum">III. COMMITMENT CAME FROM CONFIDENCE IN GOD.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. "Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Important that we know this.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. If He wants to, He can, If He doesn't then it is because He doesn't want to.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. He has a purpose or a reason for the furnace.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. They knew He could deliver from.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. "Now unto Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above..."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. They did not expect deliverance in.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. "He will deliver us from your hand."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. One way or the other.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. Even if we burn in your fire we will be delivered from you.</div>
|

<div class="SSN_rnum">IV. COMMITMENT CAME FROM DEDICATION OF PURPOSE</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">"But if not, we will not serve thy gods or worship the golden image.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. They committed themselves to worship and serve only God.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Nothing can deter them from this commitment.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. Sometimes people decide to try God.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Sort of a 10 day free trial period.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Not a full complete commitment.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. How can you stop these kind of men?</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_rnum">V. THE RESULT OF THEIR COMMITMENT.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. God did not deliver them from the furnace.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. They were thrown into the furnace, 7 times hotter.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. God delivered them in the furnace.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. This is a glorious and exciting story, but it is important to realize that God does not always deliver from, nor does He always deliver in.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Many godly saints have been burned at the Stakes.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Many have suffered violent deaths for their faith. The important thing is to be so committed to the will of God for your life that it doesn't make any difference. Maybe He wants to deliver me by the fiery furnace.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_notes">I know that one way or other, He will deliver me if I trust in Him and commit myself totally.</div>
|
|
