<p>There are several conclusions that we can make about special revelation. They include the following.</p>

<p><b>1. Divine Revelation Is Complete</b></p>
|
|
<p>Divine Revelation is complete. Nothing more needs to be added to Scripture. The faith has been once and for all revealed. Jude wrote.</p>
|
|
<blockquote><p>Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints (<a id="nbi1204-si1" onClick="return mV('Jud',1,3);">Jud 1:3</a>).</p></blockquote>

|
|
|
<p><b>2. God's Revelation Is True</b></p>
|
|
<p>The words of Scripture are true. Jesus said.</p>
|
|
<blockquote><p>Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth (<a id="nbi1204-si2" onClick="return mV('Jhn',17,17);">Jhn 17:17</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|
|
|
<p><b>3. The Scripture Is Not Exhaustive</b></p>
|
|
<p>Divine Revelation is partial. God has not told us everything that He has done or everything that we would like to know about Him.</p>
|
|
<blockquote><p>It is written, "The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law" (<a id="nbi1204-si3" onClick="return mV('Deu',29,29);">Deu 29:29</a>).</p></blockquote>

<p><b>4. The Revelation of God Was Progressive</b></p>
|
|
<p>God did not reveal everything at once to humanity—His revelation was in stages.</p>
|
|
<blockquote><p>In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe (<a id="nbi1204-si4" onClick="return mV('Hbr',1,1,2);">Hbr 1:1-2</a>).</p></blockquote>

<p><b>5. The Purpose of Divine Revelation Is to Bring Salvation</b></p>
|
|
<p>The purpose of Scripture is to save sinners.</p>
|
|
<blockquote><p>And how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus (<a id="nbi1204-si5" onClick="return mV('2Ti',3,15);">2Ti 3:15</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|
<p>John wrote.</p>
|
|
<blockquote><p>If we receive human testimony, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God that he has testified to his Son. Those who believe in the Son of God have the testimony in their hearts. Those who do not believe in God have made him a liar by not believing in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son. And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son...Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life (<a id="nbi1204-si6" onClick="return mV('1Jo',5,9,12);">1Jo 5:9, 12</a>).</p></blockquote>

<p>These are some of the conclusions that can be drawn from divine revelation.</p>
|

<p><b>Summary</b></p>
|
|
<p>The following conclusions can be made about God's special revelation to humanity. It is complete—nothing more needs to be added to it. It is accurate in all that it teaches. Although true, it is not exhaustive; it is progressive in nature. The purpose is to bring salvation to the lost. These are some of the basic truths that can be discovered about God's special revelation to the human race.</b></p>
