<h2>338. SANCTIFICATION OF THE LEVITES</h2>
|
|
<p>The Levites were set apart from their brethren for the service of the tabernacle. Notice the points of similarity between the Levites and believers:—</p>
|
|
<p>1. <b>Choice.</b> "Take the Levites" (<a id="fem338-si1" onclick="return mV('Num',8,6);">Num 8:6</a>). "As many as Thou hast given Him" (<a id="fem338-si2" onclick="return mV('Jhn',17,2);">Jhn 17:2</a>).</p>

<p>2. <b>Cleansing.</b> "Cleanse them" (<a id="fem338-si3" onclick="return mV('Num',8,6);">Num 8:6</a>). "Now ye are clean" (<a id="fem338-si4" onclick="return mV('Jhn',15,3);">Jhn 15:3</a>).</p>

<p>3. <b>Supplication.</b> "Offer the Levites" (<a id="fem338-si5" onclick="return mV('Num',8,11);">Num 8:11</a>). "I pray for them" (<a id="fem338-si6" onclick="return mV('Jhn',17,9);">Jhn 17:9</a>).</p>

<p>4. <b>Claiming.</b> "The Levites shall be Mine" (<a id="fem338-si7" onclick="return mV('Num',8,14);">Num 8:14</a>). "They are Thine" (<a id="fem338-si8" onclick="return mV('Jhn',17,9);">Jhn 17:9</a>).</p>

<p>5. <b>Service.</b> "To do the service" (<a id="fem338-si9" onclick="return mV('Num',8,15);">Num 8:15</a>). "Even so have I also sent them into the world" (<a id="fem338-si10" onclick="return mV('Jhn',17,18);">Jhn 17:18</a>).</p>

<p>6. <b>Given</b> to Aaron (<a id="fem338-si11" onclick="return mV('Num',8,19);">Num 8:19</a>). "Thou gavest them Me" (<a id="fem338-si12" onclick="return mV('Jhn',17,6);">Jhn 17:6</a>).</p>

<p>7. <b>Separation.</b> "Separate the Levites" (<a id="fem338-si13" onclick="return mV('Num',8,14);">Num 8:14</a>). "Sanctify them" (<a id="fem338-si14" onclick="return mV('Jhn',17,17);">Jhn 17:17</a>).</p>
