<h2>209. INQUIRING—DIRECTED</h2>

<p><i>To inquire of the Lord is to be directed by Him</i> (<a id="fem209-si1" onclick="return mV('2Sa',2,1);">2Sa 2:1</a>). The following seven links in the golden chain of the spiritual life are always connected, namely:—</p>
|
|
<p>1. <b>Faith</b> in the Lord (<a id="fem209-si2" onclick="return mV('Jhn',3,16);">Jhn 3:16</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>2. <b>Dependence</b> on the Lord (<a id="fem209-si3" onclick="return mV('Psa',37,7);">Psa 37:7</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>3. <b>Walking</b> with the Lord (<a id="fem209-si4" onclick="return mV('Mal',2,6);">Mal 2:6</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>4. <b>Inquiry</b> of the Lord (<a id="fem209-si5" onclick="return mV('Psa',27,14);">Psa 27:14</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>5. <b>Direction</b> by the Lord (<a id="fem209-si6" onclick="return mV('Act',13,2);">Act 13:2</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>6. <b>Blessing</b> from the Lord (<a id="fem209-si7" onclick="return mV('Deu',33,20);">Deu 33:20</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>7. <b>Glory</b> to the Lord (<a id="fem209-si8" onclick="return mV('1Cr',10,31);">1Cr 10:31</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>The blessing of the Lord's guidance always comes along the lines of prayer and obedience. Self acts upon its own authority, and is discomfited, as was Balaam (<a id="fem209-si9" onclick="return mV('Num',22,'22-35');">Num 22:22-35</a>), but faith goes at God's bidding, and is delivered (<a id="fem209-si10" onclick="return mV('Exd',14,15);">Exd 14:15</a>).</p>
