<div class="SSN_intro">Intro: Last day of the feast, eighth day. For seven days, priests in procession from pool of Siloam chanting parts of Great Hallel.</div>

<div class="SSN_level3">1. God had provided water in wilderness.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Promise of latter rain.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. Eighth day, no procession.</div>
|

<div class="SSN_level3">4. Christ stood.</div>

<div class="SSN_rnum">I. "THIRST."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. Every person acquainted with this thirst.</div>

<div class="SSN_level3">1. Tried to slant it with soulish pursuits.</div>

<div class="SSN_level4">b. Across every worldly endeavor, "He who drinks of this water shall thirst."</div>

<div class="SSN_level3">2. Being a spiritual thirst, it can only be fulfilled by the Spirit.</div>

<div class="SSN_rnum">II. "COME UNTO ME."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. Here is an invitation and appeal of the Gospel.</div>

<div class="SSN_level3">1. There is a satisfying experience.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Man can realize ideal fulfillment.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. That clamant thirst can be satisfied.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. This is a personal appeal.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. It involves only two persons.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. Man can never be satisfied until he has responded to this appeal.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_rnum">III. "AND DRINK."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. Here is where so many fail.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. There conscious has been aroused to need.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. They may even appear to be seeking Christ.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. A river flowing through a country of people dying of thirst will avail nothing.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_rnum">IV. RESULT OF DRINKING.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. "Out of his belly shall gush torrents of living water."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. This describes the normal Christian.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. What is meant by belly?</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. Part of man that constantly craves.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Natural man's god, because it receives so much care and attention.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">c. That part of man that can never really be satisfied.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. Not only is he satisfied who comes to Christ, but from that area that constantly craves shall overflow.</div>

<div class="SSN_rnum">V. WHAT WAS JESUS TALKING ABOUT?</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. "But this spake He of the Spirit."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. What is the end result of the work of the Spirit in our lives?</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. What is the true craving of the world?</div>
|
|
