<h2>451. THE WORD OF THE LORD</h2>
|
|
<p>The servants of God are not to speak what they like, they are commissioned to proclaim Christ. To proclaim Him:—</p>
|
|
<p>1. <b>In the saving of His grace.</b> "This is a faithful saying…Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners" (<a id="fem451-si1" onclick="return mV('1Ti',1,15);">1Ti 1:15</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>2. <b>In the strength of His power.</b> "It is the power of God unto salvation" (<a id="fem451-si2" onclick="return mV('Rom',1,16);">Rom 1:16</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>3. <b>In the claim of His lordship.</b> "We preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord" (<a id="fem451-si3" onclick="return mV('2Cr',4,5);">2Cr 4:5</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>4. <b>In the sufficiency of His substitution.</b> "Preached unto him Jesus" (<a id="fem451-si4" onclick="return mV('Act',8,35);">Act 8:35</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>5. <b>In the forgiving of His love.</b> "Through this Man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins" (<a id="fem451-si5" onclick="return mV('Act',13,38,39);">Act 13:38-39</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>6. <b>In the power of His resurrection.</b> "Preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead" (<a id="fem451-si6" onclick="return mV('Act',4,2);">Act 4:2</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>7. <b>In the glory of His person.</b> "Teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus" (<a id="fem451-si7" onclick="return mV('Act',28,31);">Act 28:31</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>8. <b>In the coming of His kingdom.</b> "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world…then shall the end come" (<a id="fem451-si8" onclick="return mV('Mat',24,14);">Mat 24:14</a>).</p>
