<h2>400. THE CRIES OF CHRIST</h2>

<p>1. <b>The cry of the Witness.</b> "Jesus <i>cried</i> and said, He that believeth on Me believeth not on Me, but on Him that sent Me" (<a id="fem400-si1" onclick="return mV('Jhn',12,44);">Jhn 12:44</a>). Faithful in its testimony and full in its promise.</p>

<p>2. <b>The cry of the Teacher.</b> "He <i>cried</i>, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear" (<a id="fem400-si2" onclick="return mV('Luk',8,8);">Luk 8:8</a>). Powerful in utterance and practical in outcome.</p>
|
|
<p>3. <b>The cry of the Life-giver.</b> "He <i>cried</i> with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth" (<a id="fem400-si3" onclick="return mV('Jhn',11,43);">Jhn 11:43</a>). Quickening and liberating.</p>
|
|
<p>4. <b>The cry of the Satisfier.</b> "Jesus stood and <i>cried</i>, saying, If any man thirst let him come unto Me and drink" (<a id="fem400-si4" onclick="return mV('Jhn',7,37);">Jhn 7:37</a>). Sure, lasting, refreshing and free.</p>

<p>5. <b>The cry of the Rebuker.</b> "Then <i>cried</i> Jesus in the Temple as He taught, saying, ye both know Me," &c. (<a id="fem400-si5" onclick="return mV('Jhn',7,28);">Jhn 7:28</a>). Searching and mouth-stopping.</p>

<p>6. <b>The cry of the Surrenderer.</b> "Jesus <i>crying</i> with a loud voice, said, Father into Thy hands," &c. (<a id="fem400-si6" onclick="return mV('Luk',23,46);">Luk 23:46</a>, R.V., <font size=1>M</font>.). Patient and passive.</p>

<p>7. <b>The cry of the Sufferer.</b> "Jesus <i>cried</i> with a loud voice saying, My God! My God! why hast Thou forsaken Me?" (<a id="fem400-si7" onclick="return mV('Mat',27,46);">Mat 27:46</a>). Cry of Cries.</p>
