<h2>349. SEPARATION</h2>
|
|
<p>GOD</font> divided the light from the darkness; the waters from the waters, and the day from the night (<a id="fem349-si1" onclick="return mV('Gen',1,4,7,14,18);">Gen 1:4, 7, 14, 18</a>). As in the beginning, so is it now with the Christian and the world. We have several illustrations of this in the Books of Moses. We shall take seven, and give the corresponding truths from the New Testament.</p>

<p>1. <b>Separation.</b> Division between light and darkness. "What communion hath light with darkness" (<a id="fem349-si2" onclick="return mV('2Cr',6,14);">2Cr 6:14</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>2. <b>Manifestation.</b> "I will put a division between My people and thy people" (<a id="fem349-si3" onclick="return mV('Exd',8,23);">Exd 8:23</a>). "In this" (sinning and not sinning, see <a id="fem349-si4" onclick="return mV('1Jo',3,8,9);">1Jo 3:8-9</a>) "the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil" (<a id="fem349-si5" onclick="return mV('1Jo',3,10);">1Jo 3:10</a>).</p>

<p>3. <b>Conversation.</b> "Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, &c." (<a id="fem349-si6" onclick="return mV('Lev',20,25);">Lev 20:25</a>). "As He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of living" (<a id="fem349-si7" onclick="return mV('1Pe',1,'13-16');">1Pe 1:13-16</a>, R.V.).</p>

<p>4. <b>Dedication.</b> "All the days of his separation he is holy unto the Lord" (Num 6:8). "Be ye separate" (<a id="fem349-si8" onclick="return mV('2Cr',6,17);">2Cr 6:17</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>5. <b>Isolation.</b> "The people shall dwell alone" (<a id="fem349-si9" onclick="return mV('Num',23,9);">Num 23:9</a>). "Be not conformed to this world" (<a id="fem349-si10" onclick="return mV('Rom',12,2);">Rom 12:2</a>).</p>

<p>6. <b>Sanctification.</b> "Thou shalt not plow with an ox and ass together" (<a id="fem349-si11" onclick="return mV('Deu',22,10);">Deu 22:10</a>). "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers" (<a id="fem349-si12" onclick="return mV('2Cr',6,14);">2Cr 6:14</a>).</p>

<p>7. <b>Consecration.</b> "Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts" (<a id="fem349-si13" onclick="return mV('Deu',22,11);">Deu 22:11</a>). "Put off the old man with his deeds" (<a id="fem349-si14" onclick="return mV('Col',3,9);">Col 3:9</a>). "Put ye on the Lord Jesus" (<a id="fem349-si15" onclick="return mV('Rom',13,14);">Rom 13:14</a>).</p>
