<h2>332. SAFEGUARDS</h2>
|
|
<p>The safeguards are connected with the word "lest" in the Epistle to the Hebrews.</p>
|
|
<p>1. <b>Hearing.</b> "Give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, <i>lest</i> at any time we should let them slip" (<a id="fem332-si1" onclick="return mV('Hbr',2,1);">Hbr 2:1</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>2. <b>Heeding.</b> "Take heed, brethren, <i>lest</i> there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief" (<a id="fem332-si2" onclick="return mV('Hbr',3,12);">Hbr 3:12</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>3. <b>Exhorting.</b> "Exhort one another daily,…<i>lest</i> any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin" (<a id="fem332-si3" onclick="return mV('Hbr',3,13);">Hbr 3:13</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>4. <b>Labouring.</b> "Labour, therefore, to enter into that rest, <i>lest</i> any man fall after the same example of disobedience" (<a id="fem332-si4" onclick="return mV('Hbr',4,11);">Hbr 4:11</a>, <font size=1>M</font>.).</p>

<p>5. <b>Considering.</b> "Consider Him…<i>lest</i> ye be wearied and faint" (<a id="fem332-si5" onclick="return mV('Hbr',12,3);">Hbr 12:3</a>).</p>

<p>6. <b>Making.</b> "Make straight paths for your feet, <i>lest</i> that which is lame be turned out of the way" (<a id="fem332-si6" onclick="return mV('Hbr',12,13);">Hbr 12:13</a>).</p>

<p>7. <b>Looking.</b> "Looking diligently, <i>lest</i> any man fail of the grace of God: <i>lest</i> any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled" (<a id="fem332-si7" onclick="return mV('Hbr',12,15);">Hbr 12:15</a>).</p>
