<p>According to the Book of Revelation, there will be a future ministry of angels. Their work toward God and humanity is not yet finished.
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Countless Number of Angels Worship God</b>
|
|
<p>We find innumerable angels worshipping around God's throne.
|
|
<blockquote><p>Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels surrounding the throne and the living creatures and the elders; they numbered myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands (<a id="nbi22-si1" onClick="return mV('Rev',5,11);">Rev 5:11</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Four Angels Restrain the Winds of Judgment</b>
|
|
<p>The Bible says four angels will restrain judgment upon the earth.
|
|
<blockquote><p>After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind could blow on earth or sea or against any tree (<a id="nbi22-si2" onClick="return mV('Rev',7,1);">Rev 7:1</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Seven Angels Sound Seven Trumpets of Judgment</b>
|
|
<p>There will be seven angels that will stand before the Lord with seven trumpets.
|
|
<blockquote><p>And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them (<a id="nbi22-si3" onClick="return mV('Rev',8,2);">Rev 8:2</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|
<p>Angels will be fighting in heaven under the leadership of Michael the archangel.
|
|
<blockquote><p>And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. And the dragon and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our comrades has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night (<a id="nbi22-si4" onClick="return mV('Rev',12,'7-10');">Rev 12:7-10</a>).</p></blockquote>

|
|
<p><b>Worldwide Preaching of the Gospel</b>
|
|
<p>An angel will travel all around the world and preach the gospel.
|
|
<blockquote><p>Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, with the everlasting gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation and tribe and language and people (<a id="nbi22-si5" onClick="return mV('Rev',14,6);">Rev 14:6</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Fall of Babylon</b>
|
|
<p>An angel will announce the fall of Babylon.
|
|
<blockquote><p>And another angel, a second one, followed, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, she who has made all the nations drink of the wine of the passion of her adulteries" (<a id="nbi22-si6" onClick="return mV('Rev',14,8);">Rev 14:8</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Wicked Judged Before Angels</b>
|
|
<p>The wicked will be judged in the presence of angels.
|
|
<blockquote><p>he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb (<a id="nbi22-si7" onClick="return mV('Rev',14,10);">Rev 14:10</a>).</p></blockquote>

|
|
<p><b>Harvesters at End</b>
|
|
<p>God will send the angels to become harvesters at the end time. They will harvest both the good and the evil.
|
|
<blockquote><p>Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle. Then another angel came out from the altar, the angel who has authority over fire, and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, "Use your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for its grapes are ripe." So the angel swung his sickle over the earth and gathered the vintage of the earth, and he threw it into the great wine press of the wrath of God (<a id="nbi22-si8" onClick="return mV('Rev',14,'17-19');">Rev 14:17-19</a>).</p></blockquote>

<p>Jesus also spoke of angels coming at the end-time harvest to separate the righteous from the unrighteous (<a id="nbi22-si9" onClick="return mV('Mat',13,'24-30');">Mat 13:24-30</a>).
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Poured Out Bowls of Judgment</b>
|
|
<p>Before Christ returns angels will pour out seven bowls of judgment on the people of the earth (<a id="nbi22-si10" onClick="return mV('Rev',15,'1-');">Rev 15</a> and <a id="nbi22-si11" onClick="return mV('Rev',16,'1-');">Rev 16</a>).
|
|
|
|
<p><b>An Angel Reveals the Great Prostitute to John</b>
|
|
<p>The great prostitute of Babylon is revealed to John (<a id="nbi22-si12" onClick="return mV('Rev',17,'1-7');">Rev 17:1-7</a>).
|
|
|
|
<p><b>An Angel Calls for Judgment</b>
|
|
<p>John saw an angel calling for the judgment of the people.
|
|
<blockquote><p>Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he called to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven, "Come, gather for the great supper of God" (<a id="nbi22-si13" onClick="return mV('Rev',19,17);">Rev 19:17</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Binds Satan</b>
|
|
<p>After Christ returns, an angel will bind Satan in the pit for a thousand years.
|
|
<blockquote><p>Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the pit and a great chain. He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years and threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he should not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time (<a id="nbi22-si14" onClick="return mV('Rev',20,'1-3');">Rev 20:1-3</a>).</p></blockquote>

|
<p><b>Kingdom Age and Beyond</b>
|
|
<p>Interestingly, there is no mention of any angelic ministry during the Millennium - the thousand year reign of Christ. During this time, the King of Kings will reign in His visible glory. After the kingdom age, we come to the eternal state. At that time, we find the angels praising God.
|
|
<blockquote><p>But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel (<a id="nbi22-si15" onClick="return mV('Hbr',12,'22-24');">Hbr 12:22-24</a>).</p></blockquote>

<p><b>Summary</b>
|
|
<p>In the Book of Revelation, angels play a prominent role. From preaching the everlasting gospel, to the binding Satan into the pit, angels are in the midst of the program of God at the end times. Consequently, angels have been an important part of God's dealings with humanity from Genesis to Revelation.</p>
