<h2>483. WHAT EVERY MAN NEEDS</h2>
|
|
<p>All men need the following seven things, among many others, whether they know it or not ;—</p>
|
|
<p>1. <b>Saviour, to deliver</b> from the power of darkness (<a id="fem483-si1" onClick="return mV('Col',1,13);">Col 1:13</a>), as Israel needed to be delivered from Pharaoh's power (<a id="fem483-si2" onClick="return mV('Exd',3,8);">Exd 3:8</a>).</p>

|
<p>2. <b>Strength, to empower</b> the soul to walk in God's ways (<a id="fem483-si3" onClick="return mV('Isa',40,31);">Isa 40:31</a>), as the lame man required power to enable him to walk (<a id="fem483-si4" onClick="return mV('Act',3,6);">Act 3:6</a>).</p>

|
<p>3. <b>Satisfier to fill</b>, that the longing of the heart may be met (<a id="fem483-si5" onClick="return mV('Psa',107,9);">Psa 107:9</a>), as the need of the multitude was satisfied with Christ's provision (<a id="fem483-si6" onClick="return mV('Jhn',6,11,12);">Jhn 6:11-12</a>).</p>

|
<p>4. <b>Sanctifier to separate</b>, that the believer may be separated from the evil, and kept to the good (<a id="fem483-si7" onClick="return mV('2Cr',7,1);">2Cr 7:1</a>), as the Levites were sanctified by Aaron (<a id="fem483-si8" onClick="return mV('Num',18,2);">Num 18:2</a>, etc.).</p>

|
<p>5. <b>Succourer, to aid</b> in the hour of weakness and temptation (<a id="fem483-si9" onClick="return mV('Hbr',2,18);">Heb 2:18</a>), as David was the succourer of Israel when he acted on their behalf (<a id="fem483-si10" onClick="return mV('1Sa',17,50);">1Sa 17:50</a>).</p>

|
|
<p>6. <b>Shield, to defend</b> in the time of aggressive warfare (<a id="fem483-si11" onClick="return mV('Eph',6,16);">Eph 6:16</a>), as Paul indicates when he writes to Timothy (<a id="fem483-si12" onClick="return mV('2Ti',2,'1-4');">2Ti 2:1-4</a>).</p>

|
<p>7. <b>Sovereign to rule</b>, that the domain of man-soul may be kept under the rule of Emmanuel (<a id="fem483-si13" onClick="return mV('1Pe',3,15);">1Pe 3:15</a> R.V.); this is illustrated in the centurion, who said that he was a man under authority (<a id="fem483-si14" onClick="return mV('Luk',7,8);">Luk 7:8</a>).</p>
