<p>This title seems to bring before us Christ as the Eternal One, manifested to us on the ground of His death and resurrection by the Word and Spirit of God, and to whom we are united by the power of the Holy Spirit. The first Epistle of John speaks of—</p>
|
|
<p>1. The manifestation of His life to us when we were born again (<a id="fem441-si2" onclick="return mV('1Jo',1,2);">1Jo 1:2</a>)</p>
|
|
<p>2. Who is our Life? "The Son of God" (<a id="fem441-si3" onclick="return mV('1Jo',5,20);">1Jo 5:20</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>3. The character of our life—"eternal" (<a id="fem441-si4" onclick="return mV('1Jo',1,2);">1Jo 1:2</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>4. The gift of the life by the Father (<a id="fem441-si5" onclick="return mV('1Jo',5,11);">1Jo 5:11</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>5. The position He has brought us into—"out of death into life" (<a id="fem441-si6" onclick="return mV('1Jo',3,14);">1Jo 3:14</a>, R.V.)</p>

<p>6. The knowledge of it through the Word of God (<a id="fem441-si7" onclick="return mV('1Jo',5,13);">1Jo 5:13</a>).</p>

<p>7. Where the life is—in Christ (<a id="fem441-si8" onclick="return mV('1Jo',5,11);">1Jo 5:11</a>).</p>

<li>He is the Path of Life, to walk in Him;</li>

<li>He is the Light of Life, to look to Him;</li>
|
|
<li>He is the Fountain of Life, to drink of Him;</li>
|
|
<li>He is the Bread of Life, to feed upon Him;</li>
|
|
<li>He is the Tree of Life, to abide in Him;</li>
|
|
<li>He is the Word of Life, to rest in Him.</li>
|
|
</ul>
