<h2>381. STARS</h2>
|
|
<p>Stars may be taken to represent believers. In the following passages of Holy Writ a resemblance will be found between the two.</p>
|
|
<p>1. <b>Made.</b> "He made the stars also" (<a id="fem381-si1" onclick="return mV('Gen',1,16);">Gen 1:16</a>). "Created in Christ Jesus" (<a id="fem381-si2" onclick="return mV('Eph',2,10);">Eph 2:10</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>2. <b>Sealed.</b> "Sealeth up the stars" (<a id="fem381-si3" onclick="return mV('Job',9,7);">Job 9:7</a>). "Sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise" (<a id="fem381-si4" onclick="return mV('Eph',1,13);">Eph 1:13</a>).</p>

|
<p>3. <b>Exalted.</b> "Behold the height of the stars" (<a id="fem381-si5" onclick="return mV('Job',22,12);">Job 22:12</a>). "Made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (<a id="fem381-si6" onclick="return mV('Eph',2,6);">Eph 2:6</a>).</p>

<p>4. <b>Not pure.</b> "The stars are not pure in His sight" (<a id="fem381-si7" onclick="return mV('Job',25,5);">Job 25:5</a>). "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves" (<a id="fem381-si8" onclick="return mV('Job',25,5);">1Jo 1:8</a>).</p>

<p>5. <b>Ordained.</b> "The stars, which Thou hast ordained" (<a id="fem381-si9" onclick="return mV('Psa',8,3);">Psa 8:3</a>). "I have chosen you, and ordained you," &c. (<a id="fem381-si10" onclick="return mV('Psa',15,16);">Jhn 15:16</a>).</p>

<p>6. <b>To rule.</b> "The stars to rule by night" (<a id="fem381-si11" onclick="return mV('Psa',136,9);">Psa 136:9</a>).
|
|
"He that overcometh…will I give power over the nations, and he shall rule them with a rod of iron" (<a id="fem381-si12" onclick="return mV('Rev',2,26,27);">Rev 2:26-27).</p>

<p>7. <b>Numbered.</b> "He telleth the number of the stars" (<a id="fem381-si13" onclick="return mV('Psa',174,4);">Psa 147:4</a>). "The Lord knoweth them that are His" (<a id="fem381-si14" onclick="return mV('2Ti',2,19);">2Ti 2:19</a>).</p>

<p>8. <b>Called.</b> "He calleth them all by their names" (<a id="fem381-si15" onclick="return mV('Psa',147,4);">Psa 147:4</a>). "He calleth His own sheep by name" (<a id="fem381-si16" onclick="return mV('Jhn',10,3);">Jhn 10:3</a>).</p>

<p>9. <b>Praising.</b> "Praise Him, all ye stars of light" (<a id="fem381-si17" onclick="return mV('Psa',148,3);">Psa 148:3</a>). "To the praise of the glory of His grace" (<a id="fem381-si18" onclick="return mV('Eph',1,6);">Eph 1:6</a>).</p>

<p>10. <b>Light-givers.</b> "The stars for a light by night" (<a id="fem381-si19" onclick="return mV('Jer',31,35);">Jer 31:35</a>). "Ye are the light of the world" (<a id="fem381-si20" onclick="return mV('Mat',5,14);">Mat 5:14</a>).</p>

<p>11. <b>Differing.</b> "One star differeth from another star in glory" (<a id="fem381-si21" onclick="return mV('1Cr',15,41);">1Cr 15:41</a>). "Diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit" (<a id="fem381-si22" onclick="return mV('1Cr',12,4);">1Cr 12:4</a>).</p>

<p>12. <b>Held.</b> "He had in His right hand seven stars" (<a id="fem381-si23" onclick="return mV('Rev',1,16);">Rev 1:16</a>). "My sheep…shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand" (<a id="fem381-si24" onclick="return mV('Jhn',10,27,28);">Jhn 10:27-28</a>).</p>
