Witness of the Gospel
<ul>
<li>
Formerly limited to the Jews
</li>
<li>
Under the New Covenant it is worldwide
</li>
<li>

This declaration now requires witnesses — preachers

<li>

The Word of God must be heard

The Witnesses
<ul>
<li>
In the general sense all believers are preachers — proclaimers
</li>
<li>
In another sense there are men who are called by God to preach

The Content of the Message
<ul>
<li>
It must never be anything but the Word of God
</li>
<li>
It must keep Christ central
<ul>
<li>

Who He is

What He has done

His return

Lord of the Witness
<ul>
<li>
He sends those whom He chooses
</li>
<li>
He directs those whom He sends
</li>
<li>

No one should try to make himself a preacher or decide where he will work
</li>
<li>
The Church must determine the call
</li>
<li>
The Church must confirm the man

Necessity of the Witness — Preaching
<ul>
<li>
Salvation depends on it
<ul>
<li>
"How shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed?"
</li>
<li>
"How shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard?"
</li>
<li>
"How shall they hear without a witness?"
</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>
The result of "hearing" is faith
<ul>
<li>
The inevitable effect is believing
</li>
<li>
When the Gospel is "heard" faith is the result —"
