<p>God has made His presence felt among humankind since the beginning of time. Sometimes it has been obvious, sometimes not so obvious. He has revealed Himself in many different ways. All of these ways testify to the fact that He is intimately involved in human affairs. From the first chapter of the Bible until the last we find God intimately being involved with His creation. We will give only a few examples.</p>

|
<p><b>God Delivered Israel from Egypt</b></p>
|
|
<p>When the children of Israel were in bondage in Egypt they cried out for help. God revealed Himself to Moses in a burning bush that was not consumed.</p>
|
|
<blockquote><p>And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold the bush burned with fire, but the bush was not consumed (<a id="nbi1371-si1" onClick="return mV('Exd',3,3);">Exd 3:3</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|
<p>God told Moses that he would be that deliverer. The needs of the people would be met. They would be lead out of Egypt to their own land—a land that God promised them.</p>
|
|
|
|
<p><b>God Guided Israel in the Wilderness</b></p>
|
|
<p>Once out of Egypt God guided the children of Israel in a supernatural way to the Promised Land.</p>
|
|
<blockquote><p>And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night (<a id="nbi1371-si2" onClick="return mV('Exd',13,21);">Exd 13:21</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|
<p>Throughout the entire history of the Old Testament we find God intimately involved with the affairs of His people.</p>
|
|
|
|
<p><b>The Father's Concern Was for Humanity</b></p>
|
|
<p>In the New Testament Jesus spoke of God's concern for humanity:</p>
|
|
<blockquote><p>Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. But the very hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows (<a id="nbi1371-si3" onClick="return mV('Mat',10,'29-31');">Mat 10:29-31</a>).</p></blockquote>

|
<p><b>God Sent His Son</b></p>
|
|
<p>The Bible is clear that God is intimately involved in the affairs of humankind. His greatest involvement was in sending His Son.</p>
|
|
<blockquote><p>God, who at various times and in different ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir to all things, through whom also he made the worlds; who being the brightness of his glory and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high (<a id="nbi1371-si4" onClick="return mV('Hbr',1,'1-3');">Hbr 1:1-3</a>).</p></blockquote>

<p>John also wrote.</p>
|
|
<blockquote><p>For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life (<a id="nbi1371-si5" onClick="return mV('Jhn',3,16);">Jhn 3:16</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|

<p><b>Summary</b></p>
|
|
<p>The Bible speaks not only of a God who exists, but a God who is intimately involved in the everyday affairs of humanity. He cares about what occurs. We find this taught in both testaments. From guiding the children of Israel out of Egypt and to the Promised Land to sending His Son to die for the sins of the world, God is intimately involved with humanity. He cares about His creation.</p>
