<h2>412. THE LORD AS THE HELPER</h2>

|
<p>"Hitherto the Lord hath helped us." What a Helper the Lord is!</p>
|
|
<p>1. <b>Shielding Helper</b> (<a id="fem412-si1" onclick="return mV('Psa',33,20);">Psa 33:20</a>; <a id="fem412-si2" onclick="return mV('Hbr',13,6);">Hbr 13:6</a>); it matters not how many the enemies are, He is able to protect us by His presence, while effecting our deliverance.</p>

<p>2. <b>Supplying Helper</b> (<a id="fem412-si3" onclick="return mV('Psa',40,17);">Psa 40:17</a>; <a id="fem412-si4" onclick="return mV('Hbr',4,16);">Hbr 4:16</a>); He gives more than cold help; He supplies all our need, and thus helps us indeed.</p>

<p>3. <b>Sure Helper</b> (<a id="fem412-si5" onclick="return mV('Psa',46,1);">Psa 46:1</a>); we need not fear that He will fail us, we can always count upon Him.</p>
|
|
<p>4. <b>Strong Helper</b> (<a id="fem412-si6" onclick="return mV('Psa',54,4);">Psa 54:4</a>); some friends are quite willing to help us, but they have not got the strength. Not so the Lord, He is the God (Elohim, the Three in One), who can aid us whatever the emergency is.</p>
|
|
<p>5. <b>Sympathising Helper</b> (<a id="fem412-si7" onclick="return mV('Psa',89,19);">Psa 89:19</a>). The One who helps us is one of us—Christ—and therefore, understands our case completely.</p>
|
|
<p>6. <b>Satisfying Helper</b> (<a id="fem412-si8" onclick="return mV('Psa',146,5);">Psa 146:5</a>). He meets our case at every point, and satisfies all our need.</p>
|
|
<p>7. <b>Sustaining Helper</b> (<a id="fem412-si9" onclick="return mV('Isa',41,10);">Isa 41:10</a>). There is an arm beneath us that is able to sustain us, we may therefore lean hard.</p>
