<h2>331. SACRIFICE, THE GROUND OF BLESSING</h2>
|
|
<p>Sacrifice is the ground of all God's bestowments and blessings. There is one principle which runs through the Scriptures from end to end, like the lead in a pencil, and that is, that all God's approaches to man, and all man's approaches to Him, are on the ground of sacrifice.</p>
|
|
<p>1. <b>Acceptance.</b> Abel's acceptance with the Lord (<a id="fem331-si" onclick="return mV('Hbr',11,4);">Hbr 11:4</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>2. <b>Regeneration.</b> Noah's looking out on a new world in covenant promise (<a id="fem331-si1" onclick="return mV('Gen',8,20,21);">Gen 8:20-21</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>3. <b>Preservation.</b> Israel's protection in Egypt (<a id="fem331-si2" onclick="return mV('Exd',12,13);">Exd 12:13</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>4. <b>Access.</b> Entrance into the holiest of all in the tabernacle (<a id="fem331-si3" onclick="return mV('Lev',16,14);">Lev 16:14</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>5. <b>Cleansing.</b> Cleansing of the leper (<a id="fem331-si4" onclick="return mV('Lev',14,6);">Lev 14:6</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>6. <b>Consecration.</b> Consecration of the temple (<a id="fem331-si5" onclick="return mV('1Ki',8,5);">1Ki 8:5</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>7. <b>Bestowment.</b> The bestowment of a kingdom (<a id="fem331-si6" onclick="return mV('1Sa',16,'1-5');">1Sa 16:1-5</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>All the above blessings and many more, are grounded upon sacrifice.</p>
