In What Specific Ways Is God Present with His Creation?

The Bible says that God is present with His creation in a number of specific ways. They include the following

1. He Is with the Angels in Heaven

He is with the angels in heaven.

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lofty; and the hem of his robe filled the temple. Seraphs were in attendance above him; each had six wings: with two they covered their faces, and with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew. And one called to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory" (Isa 6:1-3).

In Revelation we read.

At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it (Rev 4:2).

2. God Is Present in the Natural World

He is present in the natural world.

The LORD is slow to anger but great in power, and the LORD will by no means clear the guilty. His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet (Nah 1:3).

3. He Is There for Those Who Seek Him

He is ever-present for those who seek after Him

So that they would search for God and perhaps grope for him and find him-though indeed he is not far from each one of us (Act 17:27).

4. He Is with Those Who Are Doing His Work

He is also present with those who are doing His work.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age (Mat 28:19-20).

5. He Is Present in the Life of a Believer

God is always present in the life of the believer. Paul wrote.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me (Gal 2:20).

Summary

Scripture gives a number of specific examples of God's presence with His creation. He is present in heaven with the angels. God is also present in the natural world. His presence is with those who seek after Him. God is also present with those who are doing His work. Finally, He is present in the life of each believer. These truths demonstrate that God's presence is everywhere in the universe. It also illustrates that He is a God who is personally involved with His creation.
