<h2>74. CHRIST, OUR SUBSTITUTE</h2>

|
<p>We must know Christ "for us" as our Substitute, before we can know Christ "in us" as our Strength, and before we can be with Him in the glory.</p>
|
|
<p>1. Christ is the <b>God-appointed</b> Substitute (<a id="fem74-si1" onclick="return mV('Rom',5,8);">Rom 5:8</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>2. Christ is the <b>God-approved</b> Substitute (<a id="fem74-si2" onclick="return mV('Eph',5,2);">Eph 5:2</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>3. Christ is the <b>God-satisfying</b> Substitute (<a id="fem74-si3" onclick="return mV('2Cr',5,21);">2Cr 5:21</a>; <a id="fem74-si4" onclick="return mV('Gal',3,13);">Gal 3:13</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>4. Christ is the <b>Protecting</b> Substitute from Divine wrath (<a id="fem74-si5" onclick="return mV('1Cr',5,7);">1Cr 5:7</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>5. Christ, as our Substitute, <b>places</b> us in an <b>unparalleled position</b> (<a id="fem74-si6" onclick="return mV('1Th',5,9,10);">1Th 5:9-10</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>6. As our Substitute, Christ has <b>procured</b> for us <b>unlimited blessings</b> (<a id="fem74-si7" onclick="return mV('Rom',8,32);">Rom 8:32</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>7. Christ, in being our Substitute, had a <b>practical</b> end in view (<a id="fem74-si8" onclick="return mV('Tts',2,14);">Tts 2:14</a>; <a id="fem74-si9" onclick="return mV('1Jo',3,16);">1Jo 3:16</a>; <a id="fem74-si10" onclick="return mV('1Pe',2,20,21);">1Pe 2:20-21</a>; <a id="fem74-si11" onclick="return mV('1Pe',4,1);">1Pe 4:1</a>).</p>

<p>In all the above Scriptures the words "<i>for us</i>" will be found.</p>
