<h2>136. FAITH</h2>

<h3>HEBREWS 11:23-31</h3>
|
|
<p>1. <b>Courage of faith</b> (<a id="fem136-si" onclick="return mV('Hbr',11,23);">Hbr 11:23</a>). The declarations of God are always to be regarded before the decrees of man.</p>
|
|
<p>2. <b>Choice of faith</b> (<a id="fem136-si" onclick="return mV('Hbr',11,24);">Hbr 11:24</a>). Pleasures of sin are always renounced for the pleasures of God's right hand; and the treasures of earth are abandoned for the treasures of heaven.</p>
|
|
<p>3. <b>Calmness of faith</b> (<a id="fem136-si" onclick="return mV('Hbr',11,27);">Hbr 11:27</a>). When we know what it is to look into the face of God, we shall never fear the frown of man.</p>
|
|
<p>4. <b>Covering of faith</b> (<a id="fem136-si" onclick="return mV('Hbr',11,29);">Hbr 11:29</a>). The blood of atonement is faith's protection, and the presence of God is its confidence (<a id="fem136-si" onclick="return mV('Exd',12,13,23);">Exd 12:13, 23</a>).</p>

<p>5. <b>Confidence of faith</b> (<a id="fem136-si" onclick="return mV('Hbr',11,29);">Hbr 11:29</a>). The Word of God was Israel's authority for crossing the Red Sea; hence the confidence they had.</p>
|
|
<p>6. <b>Conflict of faith</b> (<a id="fem136-si" onclick="return mV('Hbr',11,30);">Hbr 11:30</a>). "The battle is the Lord's," is the war-cry of faith.</p>
|
|
<p>7. <b>Confession of faith</b> (<a id="fem136-si" onclick="return mV('Hbr',11,31);">Hbr 11:31</a>). Rahab's action proclaims her faith.</p>
