<p class="just">Nicholson attended the Rugby School, New College, Oxford, and the Royal College of Music. He played the organ in many locations:</p>

<p class="just">In 1927, Nicholson founded the School of English Church Music. He edited <em>Hymns Ancient and Modern</em> (1916-1947), and was knighted in 1938. His works include:</p>
