He is best known for his translations of German hymns by <a href = "./hymns/hymns_bio/bio_l_u_luther_m.html" >Martin Luther</a>, <a href = "./hymns/hymns_bio/bio_g_e_gerhardt_p.html" >Paul Gerhardt</a>, and others. His works include:
