<p>In 1850, Eliza married Rev. W. Alderson, chaplain to the West Riding House of Correction, Wakefield. It was there she wrote the majority of her hymns. Her brother was composer <a href = "./hymns/hymns_bio/bio_d_y_dykes_jb.html" >John Bacchus Dykes</a>.</p>
