<P><B>1.</B> To view TSK cross-referencing on any passage of Scripture, first go to that portion of Scripture in the Blue Letter Bible (the easiest means to this end is to <A HREF="./help/selec.html">search</A> out the verse from our home page). For this example we will use Gen 1:1.</p>

<P><B>2.</B> Once on the page with the desired passage, you will notice that each verse of Scripture is prefaced by an assortment of buttons (generally <IMG SRC="./gifs/baby_k.gif" HEIGHT="12" ALIGN="bottom">, <IMG SRC="./gifs/baby_c.gif" HEIGHT="12" ALIGN="bottom">, <IMG SRC="./gifs/baby_l.gif" HEIGHT="12" ALIGN="bottom">, <IMG SRC="./gifs/baby_v.gif" HEIGHT="12" ALIGN="bottom">, <IMG SRC="./gifs/baby_i.gif" HEIGHT="12" ALIGN="bottom">, and/or <IMG SRC="./gifs/baby_d.gif" HEIGHT="12" ALIGN="bottom">). The <IMG SRC="./gifs/baby_k.gif" HEIGHT="12" ALIGN="bottom"> button will bring up cross-referencing information from the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge (hence the "K" for "knowledge"). Click on the <IMG SRC="./gifs/baby_k.gif" HEIGHT="12"> button as illustrated below.</p>

<P><B>3.</B> This will pop up a window with a table of verse references (see illustration). Each individual portion of this page will be explained in the points that follow.</p>

<P><B>4.</B> In the first section of the table, there stands the same verse reference (that from which you came) followed immediately by the verse in its entirety. This highlighted reference is likewise linked back to that portion of Scripture in the Blue Letter Bible.</p>

<P><B>5.</B> The second portion of the table begins with two column headers. The first is '<b>Phrase of Scripture</b>" on the left, and then "<b>Correlating Passages</b>" on the right. The first entry under Phrase of Scripture is the word "<font style=color:#991A15;>beginning</font>."</p> In this example, "<font style=color:#991A15;>beginning</font>" represents the phrase from Gen 1:1 "In the "<font style=color:#991A15;>beginning</font>." Beneath Correlating Passages, are a listing of cross references relating to that portion of the selected verse. In other words, Jhn 1:1-3, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." would be a cross reference to Gen 1:1 "In the beginning..." <p>You can see the text of the cross reference clicking on the reference, in this case, Jhn 1:1-3.</p>

<P><B>6.</B> You can see the text of the cross reference clicking on the reference, in this case, Jhn 1:1-3. This popup will most likely appear in another part of your screen. You can see the context for your cross reference by clicking on "Go to Bible for Jhn 1:1" which is located at the bottom of your verse popup. You can close this popup in the usual manner, by clicking the X in the upper right hand corner.</p>

<P><B>7.</B> In some cases, the verse is long and the cross references are many. A quick navigation tip: click on the word in red in the verse above. In our example, clicking on the word <i><font style=color:#991A15;>God</font></i> above and will transport yoy to the appropriate row in the cross references below. Click on "Return to top" to return to your verse.</p>

<P><B>8.</B> One of the questions about TSK that we are most often asked is about the non-linked numbers that sometimes occur in the midst of the cross-referencing. You may have noticed that clicking on John 1:1-3 in our example displayed only John 1:1. This is really an idiosyncracy unique to the process we have used to encode hypertext links into our TSK information. When our program comes across a hyphenated verse reference, it will only highlight the first verse of the hyphenated pair. In the example below, the reference is "John 1:1-3," but the only portion to be linked is the Jhn 1:1 portion. Hopefully this will not be a great detriment to your use of the TSK tool.
