<p>We are commanded in Scripture to be aware of the attacks of the devil.
|

<blockquote><p>And we do this so that we may not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs (<a id="nbi583-si1" onClick="return mV('2Cr',2,11);">2Cr 2:11</a>).</p></blockquote>

|
|
|
<p><b>Non-Existence</b></p>
|
|
<p>One of the tactics the devil takes is to convince people he does not exist. There is no use in resisting someone who is merely a mythological figure. The devil attempts to make people think that he is just the product of someone's imagination.</p>
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Angel of Light</b></p>
|
|
<p>The Bible says that devil comes to us an angel of light, not as some horrible, ugly creature.
|
|
<blockquote><p>And no wonder! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (<a id="nbi583-si2" onClick="return mV('2Cr',11,14);">2Cr 11:14</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Affluence</b></p>
|
|
<p>Another way in which the devil deceives people is through riches. Those who have everything in this world feel that they have no need for God. Jesus was offered riches when He was tempted by the devil.
|
|
<blockquote><p>And the devil said to him, To you I will give their glory and all this authority; for it has been given over to me, and I give it to anyone I please. If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours <a id="nbi583-si3" onClick="return mV('Luk',4,6,7);">Luk 4:6-7</a>).</p></blockquote>

<p><b>Turn the Person Away</b></p>
|
|
<p>Whatever the exact tactic that the devil uses, his ultimate objective is to turn that person away from Christ. If he can get a person off of the straight and narrow, then he will do whatever it takes to accomplish this.</p>
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Summary</b></p>
|
|
<p>The devil uses a variety of tactics to the cause the believer to sin. He usually appears as an angel of light. The ultimate goal is to get the Christian sidetracked. The Bible warns us not to be ignorant of his tactics.
