<p>How can we sanctify ourselves (<a id="fem339-si2" onclick="return mV('2Cr',7,1);">2Cr 7:1</a>)? In the following sevenfold manner:—</p>
|
|
<p>1. By the mortification of the old sinful nature within us (<a id="fem339-si3" onclick="return mV('Col',3,5);">Col 3:5</a>; <a id="fem339-si4" onclick="return mV('Rom',8,12,13);">Rom 8:12-13</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>2. By the expulsion from our life of all evil habits (<a id="fem339-si5" onclick="return mV('Col',3,9);">Col 3:9</a>; <a id="fem339-si6" onclick="return mV('Gal',5,24);">Gal 5:24</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>3. By the denial of self itself, in ignoring its existence (<a id="fem339-si7" onclick="return mV('Luk',9,23,24);">Luk 9:23-24</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>4. By the enthronement of Christ in the heart by the Spirit (<a id="fem339-si8" onclick="return mV('Eph',3,17);">Eph 3:17</a>; <a id="fem339-si9" onclick="return mV('1Pe',3,15);">1Pe 3:15</a>, R.V.).</p>
|
|
<p>5. By being satisfied with Christ through heart fellowship with Him (<a id="fem339-si10" onclick="return mV('Mat',11,29);">Mat 11:29</a>; <a id="fem339-si11" onclick="return mV('Psa',73,25);">Psa 73:25</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>6. By delighting in God's will and control (<a id="fem339-si12" onclick="return mV('Psa',40,8);">Psa 40:8</a>; <a id="fem339-si13" onclick="return mV('1Th',5,18);">1Th 5:18</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>7. By making it our aim to do all things to the glory of God (<a id="fem339-si14" onclick="return mV('1Cr',10,31);">1Cr 10:31</a>).</p>
