<h2>317. PRESERVATION</h2>
|
|
<h3>"THOU SHALT PRESERVE" (Psa 62:7).</h3>
|
|
<p>Jehovah will preserve His people:—</p>
|
|
<p>1. <b>Securely,</b> as a strong city. "We have a strong city" (<a id="fem317-si1" onclick="return mV('Isa',26,1);">Isa 26:1</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>2. <b>Continually,</b> as a watchman. "The Lord shall preserve thygoing out" (<a id="fem317-si2" onclick="return mV('Psa',121,8);">Psa 121:8</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>3. <b>Immediately,</b> as the eye-lid does the eye. "He kept him as the apple of His eye" (<a id="fem317-si3" onclick="return mV('Deu',62,10);">Deu 62:10</a>; <a id="fem317-si4" onclick="return mV('Psa',17,8);">Psa 17:8</a>).</p>

<p>4. <b>Calmly,</b> as the strong man keeps the weaker one. "Thou (Jehovah) wilt keep him" &c. (<a id="fem317-si5" onclick="return mV('Isa',26,'3-6');">Isa 26:3-6</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>5. <b>Carefully,</b> as the gardener keeps the garden. "I, the Lord, do keep it; I will water it every moment" (<a id="fem317-si6" onclick="return mV('Isa',27,3);">Isa 27:3</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>6. <b>Affectionately,</b> as the parent keeps the child. "I will hold thine hand, and will keep thee" (<a id="fem317-si7" onclick="return mV('Isa',42,6);">Isa 42:6</a>).</p>
|
|
<p>7. <b>Powerfully,</b> as a garrison keeps the camp. "Kept by the power of God" (<a id="fem317-si8" onclick="return mV('1Pe',1,5);">1Pe 1:5</a>).</p>
