<p>From the start, God predicted the eventual fate of the angel who became Satan.
|
|
|
|
<p><b>At His Rebellion</b>
|
|
<p>When Satan rebelled in heaven, his ultimate destiny was announced.
|
|
<blockquote><p>Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings. By the multitude of your iniquities, in the unrighteousness of your trade, you profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought fire from the midst of you; It has consumed you, and I have turned you to ashes on the earth in the eyes of all who see you. All who know you among the peoples are appalled at you; you have become terrified, and you will be no more (<a id="nbi89-si1" onClick="return mV('Eze',28,'16-19');">Eze 28:16-19</a>).</p></blockquote>

|
<p><b>Predicted in Eden</b>
|
|
<p>In the Garden of Eden, God prophesied the final destiny of Satan.
|
|
<blockquote><p>I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; He will crush your head, and you will strike His heel (<a id="nbi89-si2" onClick="return mV('Gen',3,15);">Gen 3:15</a>).</p></blockquote>
|
|
|
|
<p>The head of the serpent will be crushed by the seed of the woman, who is Jesus.
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Eat Dust</b>
|
|
<p>Satan would have to eat dust - a prophetic picture of his final degradation. Eating dust carries with it the idea of total defeat.
|
|
<blockquote><p>they shall lick dust like a snake, like the crawling things of the earth; they shall come trembling out of their fortresses; they shall turn in dread to the LORD our God, and they shall stand in fear of you (<a id="nbi89-si3" onClick="return mV('Mic',7,17);">Mic 7:17</a>).</p></blockquote>

<p><b>At the Cross</b>
|
|
<p>The crushing of the serpents head was accomplished at the cross. The Bible says.
|
|
<blockquote><p>he that does sin is of the Devil; for the Devil sinned from the beginning. To this end was the Son of God manifested, that He might destroy the works of the Devil (<a id="nbi89-si4" onClick="return mV('1Jo',3,8);">1Jo 3:8</a>).</p></blockquote>

|
<p>The Devil knows that he has been defeated.
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Confined to the Abyss</b>
|
|
<p>After Christ returns, Satan will be confined to the abyss.
|
|
<blockquote><p>And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years (<a id="nbi89-si5" onClick="return mV('Rev',20,1,2);">Rev 20:1-2</a>).</p></blockquote>

<p><b>Lake of Fire</b>
|
|
<p>Ultimately, he will spend eternity in the lake of fire.
|
|
<blockquote><p>And the Devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and sulfur, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever (<a id="nbi89-si6" onClick="return mV('Rev',20,10);">Rev 20:10</a>).</p></blockquote>

<p><b>He Will Be Punished</b>
|
|
<p>Contrary to popular belief, Satan will not be in charge in hell. There will be no organized sin there with him as the leader. Everyone there will be punished, including Satan.
|
|
|
|
<p><b>Summary</b>
|
|
<p>Satan will eventually be judged - sent to the lake of fire. It was created as a place for his judgment, as well as for those angels who followed him. He will be punished there forever.</p>
