<div class="SSN_rnum">I. PALM SUNDAY CELEBRATES THE FIRST COMING OF THE KING.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. As Zech. prophesied, "He was lowly."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. On the very day Daniel predicted (<a onClick="return mV('Dan',9,1);">Daniel 9</a>).</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. If His birth in a stable seemed out of place, so also His triumphant entry.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. No heads of state, just peasants to greet Him.</div>
|

<div class="SSN_level3">2. No elaborate chariot to ride on.</div>

<div class="SSN_level3">3. Despised and rejected, we see Him weep; not for Himself, but for the people.</div>

<div class="SSN_level2">A. Not on a donkey in meekness and lowliness.</div>

<div class="SSN_level3">1. On a white horse with power and glory.</div>
|

<div class="SSN_level2">B. Not with a few disciples waving palm branches.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. With 10 thousands of His saints.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. Not to be crowned with thorns for a moment.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Royal diadem forever.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">D. Not to die in shame on a cross.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. To reign forever in glory.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">E. Even as His first coming foretold in prophecy so also His second.</div>

<div class="SSN_rnum">III. "THE KINGDOM OF THIS WORLD IS BECOME THE KINGDOM OF OUR LORD AND OF HIS CHRIST."</div>

<div class="SSN_level2">A. This present world ruled by Satan, the prince of darkness.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Jesus called him the prince of this world.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. His rule is marked by greed.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. The emphasis is to gratify one's fleshly desires.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. Thus, he would reduce man who was made in the image of God to an animal.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">4. As we look at the world, we see the nightmarish effects of his reign.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. How we long for the day when this world becomes the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. When He overthrows the kingdom of darkness.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. When earth restored (deserts blossom).</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. When animal kingdom restored.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">4. When man is restored.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. Physically.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. Spiritually.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. Today marks a day of infamy and shame in the history of man.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Missed opportunity.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Had they only crowned Him king how differently would our history of western civilization been written.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. Think of the tragedy, chaos and heartbreak; their failure, their rejection has cost.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">4. What about you? There were always two crowds, those who cried, "Hosanna" and those who cried, "Crucify."</div>
