<div class="SSN_intro">Intro: John's first introduction to Jesus (<a onClick="return mV('Jhn',1,29);">John 1:29</a>).</div>

<div class="SSN_rnum">I. THE NECESSITY TO OFFER SACRIFICE FOR SIN HAS EXISTED IN MAN'S CONSCIOUSNESS FROM THE BEGINNING.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. Sin brings death, alienation from God.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. God said, "The day you eat thereof, ye shall."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. God said, "The soul that sinneth shall surely die."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. Man cannot be complete apart from God.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. He lives on an animal plane.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. Conscious of the incompleteness he seeks to fill the void with a variety of things.</div>
|

<div class="SSN_level2">C. I cannot have true peace apart from God.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. There is a pseudo peace.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. "There is no rest for the wicked."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. "The wicked are tossed like a stormy sea."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">D. For man to come back into fellowship with God, something must be done about his sin.</div>
|

<div class="SSN_level3">1. Because righteous judgment declares death for sin, there must be death.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. This is where the animal sacrifice came in.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. In the garden, Adam sought to cover his consciousness of guilt with fig leaves. God gave him a coat of animal skin.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. The animal becomes the substitute.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">c. The blood was offered showing death for "the life of the flesh is in the blood."</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">3. The passover sacrifice.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">a. A male lamb of the first year without blemish.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">b. This was the substitute for the first-born in the house.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">c. After blood sprinkled, lamb was to be eaten, showing restored fellowship.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level4">d. Jesus, the lamb of God, offered on the day of the passover feast.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_rnum">II. JOHN'S FIRST VIEW OF JESUS IN HEAVEN IS AS A LAMB THAT HAS BEEN SLAUGHTERED.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">A. Isaiah said He was brought as a lamb to the slaughter.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. What will it be like when we see Jesus face to face?</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. Isaiah said as many as look upon Him shall be shocked, for His face is so marred He cannot be recognized as a human being. He has no beauty that we would desire Him, we hid our faces from Him. Yet He was wounded for our transgressions.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">C. It is possible that He will still bear the marks of the punishment, He endured at the hands of men to redeem me.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">1. To Thomas He showed the marks.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_level3">2. When He returns to Israel they ask Him, "What is the meaning of the wounds in your hands?" <a onClick="return mV('Zec',13,6);">Zech. 13:6</a>.</div>
|
|
<div class="SSN_rnum">III. FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD IS POSSIBLE FOR YOU BECAUSE OF THE AWESOME PRICE PAID BY JESUS CHRIST.</div>

|
|
<div class="SSN_level2">B. Behold the Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world.</div>
|
