270. LOVE'S PICTURE

We have in 1 Corinthians 13 a picture of the character of the love of God as manifested in Christ, also showing what should be the character of our love to Him.

1. His suffering love. "Love suffereth long" (Luk 22:44).

2. His compassionate love. "Is kind" (Luk 10:33).

3. His contented love. "Envieth not" (Luk 22:42).

4. His self-abasing love. "Vaunteth not itself" (Jhn 4:34).

5. His humbling love. "Not puffed up" (Phl 2:7-8).

6. His wise love. "Doth not behave unseemly" (Jhn 7:46).

7. His unselfish love. "Seeketh not her own" (Jhn 17:22).

8. His patient love. "Not easily provoked" (Jhn 21:15-17).

9. His unsuspicious love. "Thinketh no evil" (Luk 7:39).

10. His holy love. "Rejoiceth not in iniquity" (Jhn 2:15).

11. His truthful love. "Rejoiceth in the truth" (Luk 24:26).

12. His bearing love. "Beareth all things" (Gen 45:1).

13. His expecting love. "Hopeth all things" (Act 7:56).

14. His trusting love. "Believeth all things" (Jhn 17:18).

15. His enduring love. "Endureth all things" (Hbr 12:2).

16. His unchanging love. "Never faileth" (Jhn 13:1).
