- Summary — Rom 6:1-11
- Look exclusively at the Lord Jesus Christ and our position in Him
- The Turning Point — Rom 6:11
- The realm of application —
- Our practice
- Our conduct
- Our behavior
- Our experience
- The reckoning — realizing the truth about ourselves
- What is true of Christ is true of us — we are joined to Him
- Considering ourselves
- A logical conclusion
- It is not talking ourselves into something
- It is the result of truth
- It is accepting God's Word as true
- It is counting on that truth
- It is putting my life on that truth
- We are to know and count on the fact that we are dead to the rule of sin
- It does not mean that it is my duty to die to sin
- It is not a command for me to die to sin
- It does not mean that I believe sin to be eradicated
- It does not mean that sin is dead
- It does not mean "my reckoning" makes me dead to sin
- We are to reckon something about ourselves as true because it is a fact through our union with Christ. He is dead to the realm of sin and alive to the realm of God
- No longer under the dominion of death — Jhn 11:25-26
- No longer under the dominion of sin
- Sin can never make us its slave again
- God's way was not to change the old man but to send it to the cross unto death to release us from it
- No one who remains in Adam will be saved
- We are released from Adam — New in Christ
- We are to believe we are alive unto God — in the realm of the operation of the reign of grace
- No longer under the wrath of God — Jhn 3:36
- We are now reconciled to God
- We are open to all the blessings of God — Rom 5:2
- We are the special objects of His concern
- We are in God's plan and purpose to be holy and without blame before Him in love — Eph 1:4
- God's purpose is being worked in our life
- Through our union with Christ we have a living, vital, organic attachment to Him
- Thru the Spirit of Christ who indwells us
- We Are to Believe Our Position — We Do Not Experience Our Position
- We have the Word of God
- We must believe it
- We must submit to it
- We must act upon it
- We believe our position
- We are in grace
- God will bring us to perfection
- We know we are not hopeless
- Our relationship to sin is exactly the same as Christ"s
- We are in Him
- Our difficulty is in believing
- It is too good
- We are still in the body
- By faith alone we reckon the truth
