Some of the items have a background color beyond the ordinary alternation between white and grey. What do these other colours mean?
When there are additional scriptures, or 2nd Refs, provided by Hitchcock, we will highlight those with a soft yellow.
When you arrive at the "Hitchcock's Topical Analysis" from the Bible, we'll show you which verse was related by providing a light blue highlight.
At the bottom of the scripture block, there may be some additional notes by Hitchcock.
But what does 'Mark 2nd Refs' mean?
Marked 2nd Refs
When Hitchcock was preparing his topical analysis, his goal was to apply
each verse of Scripture to a single topic. At some point during the project, he came to
realize that some verses of Scripture readily apply themselves to more than just a single
sphere of study or life. He added these references to his original work as Secondary References.
By default, we have disregarded the distinctions he had made because they were made for reasons
unique to Hitchcock's own understanding of the Topical Analysis project. Still, for the
completionist, we have enabled the highlighting of these secondary references by checking the box here.
The option to highlight these references will be greyed out in topics that contained no such references.
