There seems to be a contradiction with respect to Abraham and where he was from. In Gen 11, he is said to be from Ur of the Chaldees.

And Haran died before his father Terah in his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans (Gen 11:28).

Later, however, the family of Abraham said they were from Haran.

And Jacob said to them, My brethren, where are you from? And they said, We are from Haran (Gen 29:4).

How can Abraham be from two different places?

Again we have a simple solution. The family originated in Ur but later migrated to Haran:

And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram's wife, and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran and dwelt there. So the days of Terah were two hundred and five years, and Terah died in Haran (Gen 11:31-32).

Abraham lived in Haran until he was seventy-five, so it is not unusual he could consider it home.
